Welcome to Sligo, located on the Surf Coast of Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way, a 1,500-mile touring route along the rugged western coastline. At Ocean Heights B&B we have created a list of the best 50 things to do on Sligo’s Wild Atlantic Way.

  1. Benbulben – Benbulben is a majestic mountain overlooking the Sligo Countryside.
  2. Knocknarea – Knocknarea famous for Queen Maeve’s Cairn is located near Strandhill.
  3. Mullaghmore Head – Mullaghmore Head is a Signature point on the Wild Atlantic Way.
  4. Gleniff Horse Shoe – A Valley in North Sligo known for its breath taking landscape.
  5. Glencar Waterfall – Glencar Waterfall is 50ft high and located in Glencar Lough.

  1. Cloonagh – A lovely quite beach right on our doorstep and just a 2-minute walk away!
  2. Streedagh – Stunning 3km stretch of strand and site of the famous Spanish Armada wrecks.
  3. Lissadell – Picturesque walk where you can enjoy gorgeous views of Benbulben mountain.
  4. Raghly – A remote stretch of strand and the ideal spot if you want to get away from it all.
  5. Mullaghmore – 3km green flag family beach at Wild Atlantic Way Signature Point.

  1. Lissadell House – Estate associated with W B Yeats and the Gore Booths – 5 minutes away!
  2. W B Yeats Grave – Famous Poet W B Yeats chose Drumcliff as his final resting place.
  3. Inishmurray Island – Contains most complete remains of an early monastic settlement.
  4. Spanish Armada – Streedagh beach is the final resting place of 3 Spanish Armada ships.
  5. Megalithic Monuments – Carrowmore and Creevykeel are great examples of early tombs.
